My name is Zachary Graves. I am the owner of Graves Dirty Works Excavation. I was born and raised in Poulsbo, Washington, where I grew up on a small family farm. With a variety of animals and daily responsibilities, my upbringing taught me the value of hard work, discipline, and responsibility from a young age

I began operating equipment when I was eight years old, learning on my family’s tractor around the farm. Running the tractor and using the backhoe quickly became one of my favorite ways to complete chores. I often looked for any opportunity to use the equipment, which gave me countless hours of hands-on experience digging, grading, and operating machinery long before entering the professional field.

I graduated a year early from North Kitsap High School and began working in construction right out of high school in 2020 at the age of 17. Over the next several years, I gained valuable experience in concrete work, framing, and site preparation, including installing curtain drains and other essential groundwork. At age 20, I earned my CDL, further expanding my capabilities and understanding of the industry.

In 2025, after recovering from shoulder surgery that temporarily took me out of the field, I founded Graves Dirty Works Excavation. What started as a challenging setback became the motivation to build something of my own and pursue my passion for excavation full-time.

One of my proudest accomplishments, especially as a new business owner, was doing the excavation work for RV@Olympic, an RV park located in Port Angeles, Washington. Since then, I have worked on a wide range of projects, including digging foundations, building retaining walls, installing storm drainage systems, and more.

More recently, I’ve partnered with one of my brothers to expand into tree work, including climbing and felling. While I may be new to owning my own company, I am backed by strong experience and a network of trusted business partners. Together, we are committed to honest work, clear communication, and treating every project as if it were our own property.
